We are looking for suggestion for future clinics; so if there is something you would like to see discussed, please tell us. Also, if you can suggest a place and a name of someone to give the clinic please do so. WE NEED YOUR INPUT - NOW!
A number of items such as the web page, the copying of video tapes and lateness of the directory and newsletter mailing have been neglected in the assoc. lately due to Heather's and my involvement in the HAY WEST campaign. In case you haven't heard, hay is in very short supply in the west. Some of our members in Saskatchewan and Alberta are feeling the effects of the prolonged drought and poor growth over the past 2-3 years. Round bales are selling for between $100 and $200 a bale, and we can't even get $20 for a round bale here in Renfrew County. Since Renfrew County and the rest of the Ottawa Valley have had a bumper crop of hay this year, a campaign to ship some of the surplus hay out west has been organized since July. In Pembroke and Area the farmers alone have donated over 2500 round bales of hay. Farmers from Ottawa, Smith Falls and Brockville areas are also heavily involved in the donating to the hay west campaign. Now, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Quebec are also involved in the Hay West campaign. Needless to say this requires a lot of trucking and a lot of time to load this hay onto the train cars for shipment west. Our sympathy and concern goes out to all horse people in the affected drought stricken west.

We would like to put announcements of new foals or horse acquisitions, plus a possible short note on members, so that others can get to know the wide variety of Egyptian horse owners across Canada. Any suggestions or ideas? Please call Heather Pearson.
